CFL Preview Week 17

Welcome to another CFL, CFL DFS advice article.  This week we have a 4 game slate. There are only 5 weeks left in the regular season.  This week we have Canadian Thanksgiving and football to watch on Monday afternoon. Let’s get started!

QB:

MIKE REILLY Edmonton Eskimos $11,600

We have seen the Montreal defense play a lot better in recent games.  Last week they returned to allowing a lot of yards through the air with the Riders throwing for 388.  Rielly is on his way to being the MOP nominee of his team and has a good chance to be the nominee in the West. Add in his ability to score rushing TDs and he is a great play every week.

JONATHON JENNINGS BC Lions $9,000

Jennings and the Lions offense get a plus matchup at home against the Argos defense.  The Lions are a much better team when they are at home. We know that the weather will be perfect for them under the dome the roof needs to be closed.  Look for Jennings and the Lions to have a bounce-back week after their awful game last week.

BO LEVI MITCHELL Calgary Stampeders $11,400

While all the receivers around BLM seem to be falling fast Mitchell continues to perform well.  Last week he had a 300-yard passing game. I really like him in GPPs as I expect him to be low owned.

RB:

ANDREW HARRIS  Winnipeg Blue Bombers $8,400

If you are playing multiple GPP lineups you should have Harris in at least one of those lineups.  Harris is the most dynamic back in the league. He is capable both on the ground and through the air which means game script doesn’t matter.  He should get touches no matter the score. He has a nice matchup against the RedBlacks who seem to often play in high scoring games.

WILLIAM STANBACK Montreal Alouettes $5,600

Stanback being the 10th priced RB on the slate is a great value.  We didn’t get the points that we hoped for last week from Stanback but we did get the salary relief we were looking for if you wanted to start just one running back.  He again should get most of the carries out of the backfield for the Als this week and if you are looking to spend up at running back he might be the way to go.

DEXTER MCCLUSTER Toronto Argonauts $4,700

If you are looking to save even more money at running back McCluster might be your guy.  We are going to have to keep an eye on the Argos depth chart this week to see where they list McCluster but he might end up being the best value play of the week.  What really stands out are the 6 catches he had last week. If the Argos continue to use McCluster in their passing game he is sure it hit value.

WR:

D’HAQUILLE WILLIAMS Edmonton Eskimos $10,100

We are going to have to keep an eye on the Esks depth chart when it comes out on Sunday but I think Duke Williams will be on it.  If he is he is a great play. I think he is the best receiver in the league right now. He is a top option almost every week at this point.  Especially with Brandon Banks on bye.

BRAD SINOPOLI Ottawa RedBlacks $9,200

Super reliable ppr machine Brad Sinopoli is a safe play that should get you close to 20 points this week and more if he is able to find the end zone.  He only has 4 TDs this year which as limited his GPP performances but he shouldn’t be overlooked especially in cash. There is enough value out there to spend up on receiver this week.  Try and get two high priced receivers in your cash lineups this week.

BRYAN BURNHAM BC Lions $8,600

Look for Burnham to get back on track on Saturday.  He should look more like he did two weeks ago with a home game against the Argos defense.  Burnham is the Lions best healthy receiver and should figure big in the Lions game plan this week.  The Lions are a different team in BC and look for Burnham to bounce back.

MARKEN MICHEL Calgary Stampeders $8,200

Being a Calgary Stampeders wide receiver is not good for your health this season.  Michel is healthy now. He should be the top target for Bo Levi Mitchell on Monday and Michel should leave Montreal after having a big game.

BRYANT MITCHELL Edmonton Eskimos $6,100

A bit of a price jump for Mitchell after is 6 catch game last week.  His price is still very affordable though. He will be the second target in the Eskimos offense that should put up a lot of passing yards this week.  Look for him to get into the end zone this week and be a positive part or your lineups.

JUWAN BRESCACIN Calgary Stampeders $5,700

Another nice value at receiver is Brescacin.  He is going to move up in the mind of QB Bo Levi Mitchell as he is one of the two receivers who has been with the Stamps since the start of the season.  The Stamps are depleted at receiver but they will still be able to throw the ball for lots of yards against Montreal.

Defense:

STAMPEDERS $5,500

The Stamps defense is the top play this week.  They get the huge plus matchup against the Als.  Manziel and the Als did show improvement last week but they were not up against the best defense in the league. This week they are and I expect the Stamps to take advantage of the matchup.
